WELCOME TO SOCIETY – THE HOME OF WEDNESDAY NIGHTS AT EDGE HILL!

Wednesday nights aren't just another night out... they're THE student tradition at Edge Hill University.
Society is home to the official midweek social where campus comes alive. Every Wednesday, hundreds of students leave the lectures behind, throw on their fancy dress, round up their mates, and head to Society for a night of unforgettable memories, and the best atmosphere in Ormskirk.

Whether you're a Fresher experiencing your first Wednesday Social or a returning student carrying on the tradition, Society is where friendships grow, sports teams celebrate, societies come together, and everyone is welcome.

Expect packed dancefloors, massive sing-along anthems, incredible themed nights, outrageous costumes, student drink deals, giveaways, and the biggest Wednesday party on campus. Every week brings a new DJ so no two nights are ever the same.

This is more than a club night—it's where the Edge Hill community comes together.

Event policies

ELIGIBILITY

  • Unless the individual event listing states that the event is open to the public, tickets may only be purchased by current EHU students. You must still be a current EHU student when the event takes place.
  • You must be 18 or over to attend.
  • You must bring valid photo ID to gain entry to events. Acceptable forms of ID include: 

GUEST POLICY:

  • EHU students may bring one additional guest to events if individual tickets are available.
  • All guests must have their own separate ticket.
  • Guests do not need to be EHU students but must be aged 18 or over and bring valid photo ID.
  • The EHU student who books the guest ticket is fully responsible for their guest’s behaviour.
  • Guests must respect EHSU staff, other students, and the EHSU building.
  • Any guest who breaches EHSU policies or causes disruption may be removed from the event without refund, and the hosting student may face disciplinary action.

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS

If EHSU is unable to deliver this event due to circumstances beyond our control:

  • Ticket holders will be notified as soon as reasonably possible.
  • Where possible, EHSU may offer a rescheduled or suitable replacement event.
  • Ticket holders who do not accept this alternative will receive a refund in accordance with their statutory rights. Refunds will be made using the original payment method.

If a ticket holder is unable to attend, refunds are usually not available and will only be considered in exceptional circumstances. Booking fees are handled by a third-party provider and are non-refundable, as they cover administration and transaction costs.

EVENT ATTENDANCE & ENTRY

  • Entry may be refused if you do not meet booking conditions for individual events.
  • Venue admission rights are reserved and may be enforced at the discretion of venue management.
  • EHU students are responsible for the conduct of their guest(s) at all times.
